Re: The case that an estate agent was sentenced to imprisonment for contravening the Residential Properties (First-hand Sales) Ordinance

Regarding the case that an estate agent was sentenced to imprisonment for contravening the Residential Properties (First-hand Sales) Ordinance (please refer to the government press release: www.info.gov.hk/gia/general/202304/14/P2023041400580.htm), the Estate Agents Authority reminds licensees NOT to disregard the facts and make misrepresentations conscientiously when participating in the sale of first-hand residential properties, otherwise it is possible to be sentenced to imprisonment. As a professional estate agent, licensees should always act prudently and must not commit any crime, otherwise it may lead to a criminal record and revocation of licence.
