The EAA participated in the "Chongqing • Hong Kong Week" to promote the estate agency industry of Hong Kong
The Authority has participated in the "Chongqing • Hong Kong Week" jointly organized by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to showcase the regulatory system for the estate agency industry in Hong Kong and its future development.
The Hong Kong Delegation was led by the Financial Secretary, with members coming from government departments and various business sectors, including the manufacturing industries, law, construction, real estate services, tourism, finance, Chinese medicine, logistics, public relations and consultancy, and advertising and retail. Activities included seminars, forums and exhibitions.
At the Chongqing • Hong Kong Week, estate agency was grouped under the infrastructural and real estate service industry. The Authority set up exhibition panels to provide information about Hong Kong's real estate agency industry, and Mr Stephen Ng Kam-chun, Chairman of the Training Committee of the Authority, delivered an address on the development and regulation of the Hong Kong estate agency profession on behalf of the EAA at the forum on exchange of professional opinions on infrastructures and real estate in Chongqing and Hong Kong. In his address, Mr Ng expressed his hope for the Hong Kong estate agency industry to take into account the timetable of the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) and strengthen its exchanges of professional knowledge with their Mainland counterparts in the future so as to bring about greater collaboration with their mainland counterparts in the development of the real estate market of China.
