The ten estate agency practitioners who have earned the highest number of points in EAA's Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Scheme were awarded a Prize of Excellence at a ceremony on 14 December 2006.

Over 100 guests, including representatives from trade associations, estate agency firms, tertiary and training institutions, attended the ceremony.

Officiating at the ceremony, Chairman Mr Steven Poon commended the ten practitioners for their dedication to continuous learning. Mr Poon said, “Since the CPD Scheme was launched in May 2005, the trade's response has been more and more supportive. I am delighted to see that the ten practitioners have achieved such good results, with two gaining more than 100 points.”

The CPD Scheme encourages practitioners to participate in CPD activities and earn at least 10 CPD points every year (with at least six points from core subjects).

Mr Poon noted that the level of participation in the first CPD period, which ended on 30 September 2006, was encouraging. There were 24,656 enrolments, obtaining a total of 70,927 CPD points.

During the ceremony, Mr Poon also presented prizes to the six winners of the CPD Attainment Symbol Design Competition. The design competition was divided into a licensee section and a non-licensee section. Three winning designs were chosen from each section. The winning design of the licensee section of the competition has been adopted as the Attainment Symbol.

After receiving the Certificate of Attainment, practitioners can print the CPD Attainment Symbol on their business cards. They can also have the symbol printed on their Estate Agent Card upon licence renewal.
