9. Bank Balances and Cash and Time
Deposits
Bank balances and cash comprise cash held by EAA and
short-term bank deposits with remaining tenure of 8 to 56
days at prevailing market interest rates ranging from 0.01%
to 0.85% per annum (2015: 0.01% to 0.85% per annum).
Time deposits comprise short-term bank deposits with
remaining tenure of 134 to 158 days at prevailing market
interest rates being 0.65% to 0.70% per annum (2015: 0.50%
to 0.70% per annum).
EAA considers that the carrying amounts of these assets
approximate their fair values.
