Reduction in application fees for IRIS online services
Recently, the Land Registry substantially reduced the application fees for its Integrated Registration Information System (IRIS) online services. Through the IRIS website ( www.iris.gov.hk), members of the public can conduct land searches for property anywhere in Hong Kong and obtain copies of registered documents in digital format or by printing them out.
The following reduction in application fees for the IRIS online services came into effect on 1 April 2006:

Application fee for opening an IRIS Online Services Subscriber Account was reduced from $5,000 to $2,000.
- Application fee for each supplementary Login ID was reduced from $1,000 to $500.
